Intimacy Director & Sensitivity Specialist
I am a certified sensitivity specialist and artistic associate with Ann James & Associates, an Educator Advocate with Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), and will be completing my Advanced+ Diploma with TIE in November 2026. As an intimacy professional, I approach the creative process with a critically generous eye and a willingness to question the efficacy of previously accepted practices. By centering the needs and creative impulses of the artists with whom I work, inviting questions, and embracing change, I am able to support artists in establishing value-aligned and generative processes.
In addition to my work on professional and educational productions, I also teach courses and workshops on consent-based practice. At Kent State, I co-created our guidelines for Intimacy and Instructional Touch with Prof. Courtney Brown, designed and teach our Fundamentals of Intimacy Direction and Coordination course, and established a process for assigning and mentoring student intimacy choreographers and coordinators.
